Jim's interest and experience in the construction industry
started very early and has endured for over 20 years. As
the grandson of a Master Plumber, Jim spent much of his
youth apprenticing in the construction trades. While working
construction for a home improvement company, Jim attended
Seton Hall College. After college, he continued in construction
for several years until joining a prestigious contracting
and renovation company which specialized in restoring historical
estates in New Jersey. "The level of detail involved
in historical restoration was an experience beyond any in
traditional construction," says Jim. "This experience
enables me to better work with older homes and buildings
and more effectively identify potential problem areas that
most inspectors would miss."
In April of 2000, Jim and his wife Kathy started Safe &
Sound Professional Inspectors and the company has been tremendously
successful. Safe & Sound is licensed in New Jersey and inspects over 350 homes and
commercial properties each year. Jim also attributes his
success and his customer's high satisfaction to his philosophy
of educating clients. "A home inspection is about advising
the client how to operate and maintain his home," says
Jim. "Our past clients remain a strong source of referrals
because the information we provide them helps them make
good real estate investment decisions as well feel more
comfortable and safe in their homes or offices."
